The Catholic Chic
With much buzz in New York around Pope Francis's visit to New York City, I began a fashion blog the day before called The Catholic Chic. It juxtaposed members of the clergy or the pope with modern fashion looks. I took the tone of a sarcastic fashion blogger to introduce Catholicore.
The same day my blog was conceived, it was picked up by Racked NY. The following day, it went on to be featured in Complex mag style section and Yahoo News. I received hundreds of facebook shares and tens of thousands of views from people all over the world in just 2 days. The blog was also called, "The best thing on the internet today" on Twitter.
Since its original launch, it began trending again on tumblr with the popularity of The Young Pope.
The Catholic Chic was recently resurrected as an Instagram account in anticipation of the Met Gala with the theme of "Heavenly Bodies" (catholic fashion). @catholicchic features edgy fashion editorials and been blowing up since the event took place in May 2018.
